Alex Yanev
Alex Yanev, Partner at EQE Risk, specializes in natural hazards risk management for both private and public sectors. He focuses on applying empirical experience data to assess and manage risk efficiently. Recent work includes risk assessments of power systems and industrial facilities, strategic risk-reduction programs for biotech and medical manufacturing, commercial and large residential property assessments, and post-loss investigations for insurers and reinsurers.
Alex previously worked as a construction project manager for private and public clients, and holds a degree from the University of Southern California.
Andrew Yanev
Andrew Yanev, Partner at EQE Risk, leads marketing and business operations. He has managed earthquake and natural-hazards assessments and risk management projects for major insurers, reinsurers, industrial clients, and infrastructure operators, including EDF, Engie, Los Angeles World Airports, Arauco, Eni, SCOR, AIG, Swiss Re, W.R. Berkley, Puget Sound Energy, Novartis, the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank. He also served as an expert on an International Atomic Energy Agency mission in Japan.
Peter Yanev
Peter Yanev, Chairman Emeritus of EEQ Risk, has over 40 years of experience in natural hazards risk management and is considered a leading global expert on earthquakes. He co-founded and built EQE International into the world’s largest natural hazards risk management firm, and helped pioneer catastrophe modeling for the insurance industry.
Peter has investigated more than 100 natural disasters worldwide and led major projects for corporations, governments, and international organizations. He is co-author of Peace of Mind in Earthquake Country, the best-selling homeowner guide now in its third edition. He has served on academic boards at UC Berkeley and MIT and was inducted into the UC Berkeley CEE Academy of Distinguished Alumni in 2012.
